Let’s be honest: Most people don’t enjoy cleaning their own homes. It’s a chore that never seems to be finished, particularly if you’ve got kids and/or pets running around.

But the only alternative (aside from living in a pigsty) involves shelling out big bucks for a cleaning service. And that can’t possibly fit into your budget … or can it?

A new era of clean

We’re not talking about a live-in maid to follow you around with a mop and broom. But if you’re just overwhelmed with keeping everything neat and tidy while also juggling your work and family responsibilities, there are some options out there that might not be as costly as you think.

Plus, many of those who have taken the plunge say the reward is well worth the investment.

Take journalist Fortesa Latifi, who recently wrote about her experience after deciding to spend about $250 per month for such a service.

After getting past the fact that the arrangement seemed “hopelessly bourgeois,” Latifi wrote that, as a new mom, taking the task of deep cleaning off her plate has been an “almost priceless” relief.

A tidy tradeoff

The economy is uncertain these days and inflation has caused almost all of us to tighten our financial belts over the past few years. But if you value the peace of a tidy home more than some other luxuries you might be spending some of your income on, it might be time to reconsider where that money is going.

If you opt for a monthly cleaning, you’ll still have to do the dishes, clean the counters, etc., but those unsavory, time-consuming chores won’t be a bother anymore.

Best of all, technology means it’s easier than ever to compare prices and find the service that can best meet your needs.
