Even if you’re not a subscriber, you’ve probably seen at least a few of the countless ads YouTube runs to promote its subscription-based streaming service called, appropriately enough, YouTube TV.

But if you thought it was just a premium version of the stuff you can already find on the free version of the platform, think again. And fans of pro football are about to find out what all the buzz is about.

The whole package

Ahead of the 2024-25 season, a deal between NFL Sunday Ticket and YouTube TV will result in the most wide-ranging coverage of games anywhere. This is a particularly compelling package for folks who want to watch out-of-market games — either because they don’t live near the team they root for or they’re trying to keep up to date on their fantasy league stats.

There’s even a feature built into the NFL Sunday Ticket that lets viewers keep tabs on as many as four live games all at once.

And if that’s still not enough coverage, Scott Hanson will be back this season for his NFL RedZone coverage each Sunday afternoon, complete with a breakdown of every point scored by the teams that played.

New ways to watch

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you already know that watching TV — whether live football or anything else — isn’t as simple as clicking through the cable channels anymore. And while it can be a little frustrating keeping up with what all the various platforms are carrying, the NFL Sunday Ticket bundle on YouTube TV shows that the streaming model has some benefits.

By choosing different views of the action, following real-time stats for your favorite players, and charting scores from the games you’re not watching, there’s going to be plenty of NFL action to go around this season.
